Lots of smoke from underneath. Depending on how hard I drive, a lot of smoke will be coming from this square metal object above the plastic bag I use to catch the oil. What part is this and what do I need to fix it?

That's your exhaust system oil is dripping onto it hence the smoke. You probably need the valve cover gaskets replaced.
