Default Fuel octane

So a few months back I started getting intermediate code for the front a/f sensor, it came on a few times, over 3 weeks or so and just went away. Thought that was weird, then fast forward a couple months, and out of no where, I got a knock sensor code. P0330. but its weird, I dont clear the code or anytthing, but I only lose overdrive every once in a while. Ill drive a few miles to walmart and have overdrive while the CL light is on and everyting. but then on the way back home, ill stop at a light, when the light turns green and i start going ill feel the cars power pulsate ever so slightly and then Ill lose overdrive the rest of the way home. most the time i dont even notice it. if i stop some where and restart the car, ill have overdrive until it studders again.

could this be just related to the a/f sensor? or do you think it is the knock sensors just failing? I dont really hear any knocking, atleast none loud enough, i think i can hear what sounds like marbles bouncing around if i have to gas it a little

In reality when an error is reported ... it actually means a malfunction in the sub-system. We generally attribute it to a bad sensor and statically [based on age] it is. What you observe about the knock sensor is what I went through and fix was to replace them snd dont forget to replace the mini harness. I can only give you a "legal advice" snd as "legal repair" must be done. Use the search feature.

I have been battling these codes for years. Replaced knock sensors several times over and transmission 2 rebuilds Malfunctions may happen in ways that may not make sense It isn't about fixing the sensor it is finding the reason it is going off. I am about to replace some piping due to rust and a cat and it wouldn't shock me to discover less errors or a remedy for many.

What's a "legal" repair? As opposed to?

yeah ive seen that, I just dont know how to tell if its the sensor itself that is broken, or if something ells is actually making it knock. IF it is knocking, its very suddle, and i cant really hear it.

Did you use OEM knock sensors and an OEM wiring harness each time. The one guy in that work around post mentioned that his shop had to redo the knock sensors several times before he quit having the knock sensor codes pop up. That would be frustrating for both parties, especially the shop considering the labor hours. Maybe the exhaust work will yield good results. Another guy in that post mentioned fuel injectors eliminating his check engine light for the knock sensors. Have you ever used Redline SI-1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner? I've done it several times on a few different vehicles. I've never had any negative results from it. You never know, it seems like it would be something simple; which can drive you bananas during the journey.

Default Premium fuel

Hello everybody again thank you for your response to my questions earlier about the Lexus ES 330 I bought a few weeks ago it’s a 2006 very low mileage from an estate has 6100 miles on it now but I’m wondering about the fuel it says use premium fuel does that mean anything above 89 octane or above 91 octane? As you know gas has gone up pretty high now but I definitely don’t want to put 87 octane in it? Thank you, Rocky
