Default OEM Parts From eBay

By chance has anyone bought a "OEM" wheel bearing from eBay before? I purchased the one below and I'm planning on having it installed next weekend.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-OEM-Fro...72.m2749.l2649

I'm a little skeptical now though because the price is simply way too cheap compared to OEM Toyota/Lexus discount warehouses. Lexus has it discounted at roughly $85 and this eBay seller is selling it for less than half of that ($30).

Would love to hear some opinions on this.

That bearing is a fake look closely at the pictures the first one appears to show "TOYOTA" on the bearing case, the next picture it's not there. What year is your car?

I have a 2006 ES330.

That is a very good observation. I have it on me now and in does show the "TOYOTA". Now I'm even more skeptical.

I don't ever recall a Toyota bearing saying TOYOTA on it, should be stamped KOYO.

Thank you so much! Do you think the one I got is simply a Chinese knock-off version? I'm going to return it and buy one directly from the Toyota dealership.

It’s not Genuine OEM. It’s called an “unbranded replacement”. The box shows no auto manufacturer on the box (blanked out) and by searching this part number, it’s also compatible with other car brands.

UPC: Does not apply”

Yep that's a fake, IMO not worth saving $40 since replacing the bearing is no small job. Rockauto has Beck/Arnley which is usually a Koyo in a different box but look at the pictures closely new Koyo stuff now is sometimes not made in Japan.

Just picked one up from my local Toyota dealership. Can 100% confirm that the one I originally got was not OEM. The OEM one does NOT say "TOYOTA" on the bearing.

KOYO also makes the rear bearing as well right? Such as this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/KOYO-TOYOTA...sAAMXQDfdRu89W

Not sure who makes the rear hub assembly. That listing is suspect there is a spelling error plus says made in Japan but the box says USA. And says "OE supplier brand" that seems like poor English. Need better pictures to see if that really is a Koyo part.

This part is listed as JDM, which means it wasn’t made specially by KOYO. It was made by a consortium of Japanese parts manufacturers that are licensed by Japan to produce Lexus/Toyota auto parts as well as other Japanese auto manufacturers including Honda, Subaru, Nissan and Yamaha. They are “supposed” to be equal to OEM in every respect, but they still carry the aftermarket label/stigma.

The JDM info about your part is in the fine print.

I chased your bearing down...

It’s made in China and manufactured/distributed there by a company named “wf-auto”. Yes, lower case. wf-auto has partnered with EBay to sell FAKE Toyota/Lexus/Denso parts as well as other brands. IOW, EBay knows they sell Fake parts and again, it’s all in the fine print who makes this “OEM” part. There’s even a wf-auto/eBay web site
and everything on it is Fake. https://www.ebay.com/str/wfauto

Thank you for helping clarify all of this. This has been a good lesson learned for me.

I have contacted the seller and requested a full refund. They said I could keep the part and that they would give me half of my money back. I said I wouldn't settle for less than $25 back and keeping the part just so that I could save a trip to the post office. They countered with $20 back and me keeping the part..... They are also definitely not American based on how they write.
