Auto Transmission flush or no? 03 ES300
#31
Like the described experienced above, I opened my 150,000 neglected trans in the '04 and there was almost no muck at all and the "paper" filter that I changed out looked clean; never seen a trans and filter so clean with those miles. Maybe they are onto something with the so-called lifetime fill.

LOL...
Don’t let the “slushy muck” comparison get you down. I was exaggerating for our sake and speaking of what could be witnessed if you DON’T service it regularly or use the wrong type fluid which will tend to coagulate. You have to admit that old fluid does thicken and if not serviced will tend to collect a little tranny mud in the pan and that’s why the magnets are there. My experiences go waaay back and sometimes a little “back in the day” thinking from then bubbles up, not to imply that the average Lexus user today will have to dredge their pan. lol
I chose the 3X drain and refill because of the “flushing” capabilities and because I bought a case of fluid for the job. One case = 3X
