Scanner in Rochester NY
Happy New Year to everyone! I was wondering if anyone has a scanner in the Rochester/Webster NY area that can look at codes for SRS and VSC/Trac off lights on my dash?
The SRS light has always been on the car since I bought it (2004 ES330) in April of 2019. It doesn't look like it's been in an accident and I have disconnected the battery for about a month when I changed the motor out in the fall.
When I changed the motor out I had to replace the axle on the passenger side. Prior to that the VSC and Trac off lights never came on, now they come on in the morning. Typically after a few miles of driving from startup. If I were to turn the car off and then back on, they will stay off for the duration of the day. When the car sits overnight, the process repeats itself. I've changed the speed sensor twice on the passenger side since that's the side I changed the axle on.
I would rather not stick a paperclip in the OBD2 connector to clear anything. I suspect a scanner would be able to do the same if not give a better description of the problem. I'm looking to have either a code or description of what's going on so I can fix it.
TIA

Hello,
I would suggest investing in a Mini VCI cable, it can scan all the fault codes in your car for a fraction of the dealer's cost.
In your case, your car already have a CAN bus, so you can go with the cheaper version, like one.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
