Default Please help me find shox for my es3

I am going to lower my 2000 es300. I plan on getting intrax springs, but i need to find some shox that are made for lowered cars. I'm trying to find a comfortable ride. Please give me some links or any other information. Thanks

Ben

kyb, tokico, koni....

kyb will give the softest ride, but tokico and koni have better build quality

I know of those name brands, but I have yet to find one that fits my car. So,

I am looking for struts that are built for a lowered

2000 es300

As long as you don't have the OEM adjustable suspension. Search under the Camry/Solara platform from '97-'01, as they will fit your ES, chassis is MCV20. KYB and Tokico both make struts for them, but Koni doesn't.

Default final decision

Alrighty I've found the struts i can get to go along with my lowering springs, and I was wondering if you all could give me a final opinion.

1. Kyb gr-2 $275
2. Tokico $400

I have read above that kyb has a smoother ride, but then i heard differently from the auto shop where i am going to get the struts put on. They said the tokico's have a much better build quality, and they everyone there uses the tokico and prefers them over kyb. Remember I'm looking for comfort to accompany my new intrax springs (1.6"F/1.5"R). So tell me what you think.

Ben

Cool

I just love how MCV20 is mentioned, and then he always shows up

Anyone tried a set of M. sensa-trac's? I know they ride well, but how do they do being flogged around? Not stiff enough???

The tokicos are really going to give you the smoothest ride, we sell quite a few and haven't had any complaints ever.

Got a newb question, sometimes I hear a bumping, I think its my front left strut or strut boot. I have a 98 es300 with only 44k on it. Does one ussualy replace the strut mount when changing struts. Also, if I don't want to lower the es, should I change out the springs as well (or only if I want to lower?)

Thanks

That type of noise is most commonly an upper strut mount or a control arm bushing or something like that.

Sometimes a sway bar related issue also.
