How to Part Out a Car

How to Part Out a Car
Well I had a little more fun with my ES300 and took it all apart!
I plan on making an engine glass table with the 1MZ-FE, so I dropped the whole assembly with the subframe and transmission out, and pulled off any other useable components. Here's how I did it:
When parting a car, the most valuable parts include the rims and tires, engine and transmission (depending on the vehicle), catalytic converter and then any reuseable components such as battery, alternator, starter, radiator, muffler, body panels, stereo system and lights. You'll want to focus on easy to pull, easy to sell and easy to ship parts, and leave larger pieces like body panels or dashboard removal if anyone local wants it.
The start, my convertible ES300.
Clearing out the engine bay
Removing the struts
Removing the catalytic/exhaust
Getting the subframe ready to be dropped
Dropped the subframe with engine and transmission down on two jacks
The powertrain rests on a little moving dolly.
With the jack high enough, I pulled it out the right side fender.
Say hello to my future 1MZ-FE glass Engine Table
How it sits now...
Separated the engine and transmission (with that stupid axle) in last week's snowstorm. Messy.... I used the jack and tipped it over, now its on an engine stand ready to be stripped down!
Enjoy - your part out stories welcome!

Here's the glass engine table I built out of an Infiniti G35 VQ35DE motor, sitting under my TV right now:
