Default Navigation ?

Does anyone have a problem locating Churches. I have a '04 ES330 and for the life of me I can not locate a local church using the POI, it says no POI located for that city. If I have an address it can locate the destination perfectly . I have a StreetPilot III and can find the location in it's data base. Am I missing something?

Thanks, Bob

What's the name of the church? Do you know if it was it in the previous gen system?

I can check it out at work tomorrow.

There are no listings for any churches in the POI. As I mentioned I have a StreetPilot which is a portable unit that uses SD cards for map input. I can locate nearly any church in Calif. with it. The fact that it does not have a category listed for houses of worship seems a bit odd. I have looked through each category and can find none. The name of the particular church in question is Our Lady of Lourdes, Corcoran, CA, and really doesn't even list but 17 in all of CA.
Will be interested in what you find out..

Thanks, Bob

It's not only churches! I was looking for a cemetery and I couldn't find any listings. I wish there was tech support for this NAV system.

don't feel too bad, MS Streets & Trips 2002 doesn't list churches either. If you have a numbered address then it show that.

There are churches in there, but they are usually listed under 'other buisness facilities' or schools (when there is a private school associated with the church) But yes, it looks like your specific church is not in there. You could always save a memory point there though if you go there often.

But you are right, I can definately see why houses of worship should be included. Good idea for future improvement.

jp82729, thanks for the info. I would like to be able to find a church while traveling, without needing an address. Just thought it was curious that my StreetPilot would have all that info and the Lexus system would not.

No problem. Any ideas that might improve our navigation system are always appreciated.
