Default 1999 ES300 Knock Sensors

Both P0325 and P0330 knock codes were making check engine light come on. We replaced both sensors and sub harness for each one. This was done over a year ago. No matter how many times you clear the codes, they come right back. Now I have to smog this year for registration and it won't pass because of codes won't go away

Did you use OEM Knock sensors, or after market? After market knock sensors are notorious for not being compatible with our cars

Did you buy them yourself from Toyota/Lexus or did the garage supply them for you?

With the battery disconnected check for shorts in the sensor harnesses, ideal if you do it at the ECU. If you don't find any then something has probably gone wrong under the manifold.

Just FYI, when I had mine done a few years back, we actually got a bad sensor from the dealer. It was OEM but it was broken. Took a few tries but the shop got it corrected. Doubt you would get 2 bad ones but you never know. Also, they have to be handled with care. My shop told me if you drop them on the concrete, it could damage them...
