what is a good price to pay for to repaint an entire vehicle. I have an 05 es330 and I am wondering what a good place is to look for, and how much it will cost. The car has some rock chips, and some small rust spots and just a very poor paint job done by the previous owner.

As with all paint work, residential, commercial, automotive, the time and money is in
the surface preparation. Paint and materials are variable but the labor is the big item.
Rectifying the, some small rust spots and just a very poor paint job will push the total
toward $8 to 10K. Original ES paint was three (3) process with primer, base color and
colored clear and clear coat that will raise the total as well. Unless you are restoring this
15 year old car to show car standards consider a color similar to the original to match the
door and trunk openings but just Base color coat to reduce expenses.

I guess i should be more specific. the rock chips are on on the front, and the mirrors. The rust spot is mostly two bigger spots by the sunroof, and some smaller parts scattered around the car. Also the driver side door is just looks like a big smudge when in direct sunlight. I got a quote for a local place for a total repaint and ceramic coating. What do you think?

You should also investigate the cost of vinyl wrapping it vs painting.
it should be cheaper.
no idea what that costs, but I’m sure others in the know will chime in.

If you don’t mind a color change, most hardware stores sell mistints for a big discount. I’d avoid Valspar and go with a quality brand like Behr.
