Default Center pieces on wheels getting loose click...click...click

I just noticed a ticking noise with the windows down the other day coming from the driver/front. Before I even looked for the problem I was giving the car a bath, and I noticed that the center piece on that wheel is loose, and has a lot of play. I crammed a small piece of cardboard in between it and the wheel, and went around the block, and the noise was gone, so here's my question. How are those things held on there? Can I tighten it up from the back of the wheel? Any help appreciated.

Do you have a 92-96 with the split 3-spoke wheels? If so, I once had the same problem. Ran it past the dealership, who fixed it in about 30 seconds using a flathead screwdriver to snug the metal tabs that hold the caps on.

Those are the ones. I assume the tabs are on the outside, since they did it so fast. I'll check that out tomorrow. Thanks for the tip.

Pop the caps off and use your thumbs to bend those little spring steel tabs out about 1-2 degrees. That should fix it.

Is that all that noise is??? We debated this topic a couple of years back and there was all sorts of speculation what this noise could be. I have a 96 that does it... I will be sure to check it out.
