Default Anybody knows what these piles are?

I was taking a quick look at the engine since my battery or alternator is going bad.
and then I saw these two disconnect pipe next to the radiator fan.
help?

Look at the vacuum diagram under the hood assuming it is still there. Maybe for the active engine mount? Don't know if the 4ES has that.

It goes into a tee off of the airbox. I don't have the car here now to take a picture, but if one is needed you can ask me later.

Edit: Actually I had a pic on the computer of its routing.

I looked at the T where it should go but it's already connected to a diffrent pipe.

Yes, someone just cut the front mount out of the loop. And it looks like a number of other leads are missing off the side of the airbox (2nd pic, beneath the hose).
