New tires and tire pressure
Old ones were presa 01 on front and rear had linglong crosswinds. If you have never heard of those brands, then you’re not alone since it’s my first time having them on a car.
As the title says, new tires are Michelin premier.. a little bit wider than stock.. 215 instead of 205.
The good, braking is vastly improved. I would buy these again just for that reason. Handling also improved, I think I can take corners 5mph faster than before. A lot less wobble during quick lane changes. All these could be because of wider tires and tire pressure....
neutral/slight con: comfort and road noise, I had this idea that it would be super quiet and comfortable.. but it’s not. It’s slightly worse than the old tires... here’s why: the old tires were inflated at about 26psi. I suspect these new tires are at 35psi.
if I were to change them back to 26psi, how much more wear is it going to cause the tire.

35lbs tire pressure is way to high. It will cause an uncomfortable ride and your centre treads will wear out much faster.
fill it to the recommended tire pressure of your Lexus. I think it’s posted on the driver’s door jamb.
or Google it and you’ll find it.

store didn’t have the 205 in stock. He could get them but he asked if I was ok going wider at no charge. I didn’t want to wait and wider seems better in my mind.
Yeah I like the tires, just thought they would be more comfortable. I let some air out for like 3 seconds, gonna have to get a real tire gauge to be sure what it’s on now. I used a foot pump to quickly check before letting air out and yeah they had it at 35 or 36 psi.

Just did 100 miles on lower psi, not sure what it’s at but I’m guessing 28-30psi, and feels excellent. Steering does feel a little heavier but that can be good or bad: feels more planted but requires more steering effort.
im going to play around with the tire pressure, I think I can add a little bit more and still be comfy.
if I can get 40k out of these, I’ll definitely buy them again
