Need Help removing 2005 ES330 Rear Bumper
Has anyone had any experience with removing a 2005 ES330 Rear Bumper?
Does the tail lights have to come out?
From what I saw on the older models.
Will Post photos and DIY as I always do with all my projects. Just need some advice.
thanks

Hello,
I wasn't able to find a step-by-step guide, but you can find the location of all the fasteners that hold it in the parts catalogue, which can be found here. To my knowledge, it doesn't appear as if tail lights have to come out in order to remove the bumper.. There are four clips on the outside of the bumper (P/N: 52161-16010) - right behind the rear wheel on each side, and two of the other ones near the center of the bumper. Also, there are two bolts on the very edge of the bumper on each side (P/N: 90159-60215). Next, you need to remove the trim cover in the trunk (P/N: 58387-33080), that will expose four nuts (P/N: 90179-06274) and long studs (P/N: 52791-33010) on top of the bumper. After those are out, there are four (?) fasteners on the inside, under the carpet on each side of the bumper, two are right in sight, but the other two are screwed to the bumper retainer (P/N: 52575-33090), right under the tail light. Lastly, there are two retainers under the tail lights, but those should come out without having to remove tail lights, once all the fasteners are out, it should pop out with a gentle pull.
All that said though, it is my understanding based on what I found online, so just be very careful while taking stuff apart, and do not push it if it is not going, take a look around to see if you missed something, just to be sure you won't brake anything, there are no clips that require excessive force to remove.
And just in case, here is a Service Manual for an XV30 Camry, which has a pretty similar mounting system.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
