was cruising home from Gadsten doing 80 and the radiator got a pin leak...
How inconvient! Atleast I keep a gallon of water in the trunk![Wink](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Stopped for gas and topped off the header tank. Stoped about 30 miles later and topped it off again.
Needle never rose a bit so atleast good news on that.

Ouch...it was a stupid plastic to... I didn't realize it until I cleaned it with some emory paper. Then notice a huge hairline crack about 4 inches long! Oh well... here comes a Westwood replacement.
Could be worse; looking to stay around a $100 project.

4 hours of nothing but flushing...
The reason the other one blew out was because in a '93 the antifreeze had NEVER BEEN CHANGED.
Hopefully there is no water pump damage & the metal is allright.
There was alot of metal comming out during the flushing & after 3 more block only flushes the water was still slightly orange...
Anywho's... Had to use a long 1/2" drive with a 122 inch adapter to break the cooling fan loose.
My question is what kind of advantage made them decide to use a hydro fan??? Crazy Japs...
Anyways... took about a 1/2 hour after the hours of prep to actually change the radiator.
*Be Careful* in choosing radiators. I got one from Westwood Autoparrts. I had to bend the top hold downs to fit the more rounded top on this new radiator.
The new core is around twice as thick though, whatever works ya know?
The bad part is the new core has NO drain plug on it!?!?!? Obviously the radiator has to come back off next year when I drain it...
Gave it a shot of water wetter so I don't have to change it quite as quickly... It'll also give it a ton more corrosion inhibitors. God knows it needs as muhc as it can get.
Other than the extremely long prep time, it was, all in all, a good swap...
