P2238 and P2241 codes
Hi everyone:
I recently changed the battery on my 2003 ES 300 and ever since then I've been getting P2238 and P2241 codes. I've done some research on the boards and it looks like I need to replace the two upstream AF fuel sensors with OEM units. Does anyone know if partsgeek sells OEM parts? It's cheaper there by about 40%. Otherwise, I'm looking at +$200 for each sensor on lexuspartsnow.
Thanks in advanced

Hello,
Does the car run okay?
I would suggest checking both sensors before replacing them. Get a scanner capable of reading engine's live data (some parts stores should be able to lend you one for free), check B1S1 and B2S1 A/F sensor readouts, they should be close to, but not stuck on 3.2-ish volts. Also, check the wiring - you should have 12V between two black wires, as well as 3.3V on Blue and 3.0V on White wire.
As for which sensor to get, your best bet will probably be to get one from RockAuto, Denso 2349042 for B2S1, Denso 2349047 for B1S1.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

From what I can tell, the car runs fine and there's no CEL or other abnormal lights on.
Is the OBD2 scanner the scanner you are referring to? I ordered one recently and it is on the way.
Thanks for the referral to RockAuto!

As for the OBD2 scanner, I don't know if the scanner you ordered can read live data, you will either need to post its model or go online and look for its specs. Most of the mid-range OBD2 scanners that I've seen are capable of doing so.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

No CEL (Check Engine Light) on the dash? How did you get your codes then? Check that your codes are not stored and are actually current, you can also check if monitors are set. Also, see if the CEL is illuminated when you turn the key to the ON position, if not, you will need to check the light bulb.

Have you checked if CEL is illuminated while the key is in the ON position? If so, visit any car parts store and ask for a scan tool, check if you do have those codes and that they are not Pending or History; if they are, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and prepare your pitch fork. If no CEL is illuminated, you will probably have to take the cluster out and check the light bulb for a CEL light; if the bulb is okay, there is a small chance that the ECU may be defective.
Did you check your sensors and the wiring as described above? You need to make sure that the issue is indeed in those sensors, since they are not cheap. The process of replacing those sensors should be similar to the previous generation ES300, below is the diagram showing locations of both sensors, you can find those diagrams with all Part Numbers for your car here.
