I have a new unused high beam headlight that fits an 82 continental seems that would be sufficient for load ,i have wire and connectors to connect to the headlight and make a good connection as far as headlight to test wire goes. What i am missing is connectors to make a good solid connection to that trapezoid plug...checking auto parts stores nearby...

The reason why I suggested to use a Headlight Bulb is because it places sufficient load on the circuit, while also being a good visual, other than that, it is easy to get and it does its job quite well. Anything that has low resistance and can withstand high loads, even if it is just a really long wire should do it, but there is no point to it. There are circuit testers on sale, but the prices are pretty hard to swallow even for some professional mechanics, and in your case, it will probably end up being a one time tool.

I am not sure about Lincolns, but in Toyota, you can always get yourself a spare connector pretty easily. The other issue is that you need to know the power that this bulb consumes, so that it won't try drawing too much current. If you don't know the power rating, measure the bulb's resistance, and calculate the power with an Ohm's Law (12V / R). I wouldn't put a light that draws more than 50-ish watts, just to be safe.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Please start from the beginning. Power the fuel pump direct from the battery through a fuse. Try and start the car. If it starts then dies your problem is not fuel pump related.

Doing that it still does the same, Thanks...Yeah also when you close the circuit the pump engages and pumps a lot of fuel I saw this with the fuel line off at filter ,the pump pumps gas when you apply 12v to it too but same result car still starts and dies .,any way it goes you put 12 volts to the pumps it pumps fuel., at the start of this with the line off at filter the pump would prime and then no fuel would come out of line after that .I believe that the pump is fine and that it is in the wiring that's why i was looking to put 12v to this pump in this beginning of all this. I will continue to trace through the wiring for all that can be possibly related to the whole start and then die immediately issue I have .I am done with that fuel pump...

In the beginning, you wrote that the car ran fine when you connect a separate battery to the pump, is it still the case?

No that.is misinformation that I was told that I posted before I ever got the car to me ,when 12 v is applied straight to the pump it pumps a lot of gas thats all but the car still starts and immediately dies, after first trying that I removed the bottom line off the filter and watched pump with 12 v direct dump fuel out then using the car it as was i tried to start it that way too without 12 v applied and watched some gas come out when it primed or I guess attempted to but none while attempting to start,The only way this pump runs is if you put 12v directly to it or close the circuit

Yeah, but it now completely turns the tables! I operated from the fact that the car actually runs if you use a separate power source. Now it all indicates that your pump may indeed be working as intended, and the issue is hidden somewhere else. It is time to look elsewhere.

How the car dies? Does it just shut off or sputters before quitting?
Is the Check Engine Light illuminated on the dashboard when the car starts?
Do you hear any vacuum leaks as the engine runs?
What brand Spark Plugs and Wires did you use? Are the Plugs regular Copper or Platinum?

Sounds like the security system is disabling the fuel injectors. But that's a guess not enough clarity to know what's going on.

Is the security system capable of doing so? To my knowledge it shuts off the ignition system rater than fuel..

Can easily check ,the security light tells you what's going on if it goes out with the key inserted this means it accepts the key and the car should run.

Maybe, I can't verify this. A dealer tech told me the ECU disables the injectors disabling spark allowing only fuel would mean gas gets dumped into the engine unburned.
