ABS light is on and Tracs Off light is flashing. I'm assuming this is the ABS controller going out? It is currently intermittent.

There is also a strange whining sound that the car makes when I accelerate. This seems to be only happen when the ABS light is on. What causes this noise? What does it have to do with the ABS system?

Hello,

Visit any car parts store in the area, they should be able to rent you a scan tool for free, try pulling the codes stored in the system, that will make things a lot easier. Other than that, a video of the sound your car makes would be helpful.

the ABS/Tracs Off light come on intermittently now.

the noise I was hearing is the power steering pump. Not sure why it started acting up around the same time as the ABS controller. Anyway....
