ABS Light blinks when using a code reader
Hey guys
I'm having an issue where my ABS light will start to blink when I connect my scan tool and try to read the codes.
Car is 2002 ES300 with 140K miles.
Code reader I use is Launch Creader 3001. It's an inexpensive $25 tool but has good reviews.
After disconnecting the scanner, the abs light stops blinking. Also it reads all the codes correctly, I had a minor evap leak because I forgot to tighten the gas cap, that's why I got the scanner in the first place.
So can I keep using this scanner in the future? Or will it damage my ECU? Appreciate your help, thank you.

I don't know anything about the Launch Creader 3001 but I had a similar problem with a ScanGauge II. I called the manufacturer of SGII and they said that it was because I was trying to use it with a Toyota product that has a 1 wire difference in the obd system. They sent me a new (and different) cord for free and it works like a charm.
Call your manufacturer and ask if you might have this same problem.
Good luck.
