Default SC430 "plates" on a 99ES stock suspension

I had been "lurking" on this forum and just came upon a deal for the SC430 "dinner plates" or "pie plates" with 245/45R18 tires mounted on them. I roll a 1999 ASP ES300 at stock height on aftermarket wheels with 205/65R15 tires as an everyday driver. I can co-sign other members' posts about the stock tires bottoming out when you are rolling 5 deep. I have gotten a tire size fitment recommendation of 215/45R18 from Tirerack (and they said I "don't need any fender mods or spacers")... So I have a few questions for the members/moderators if you have any experience with these dinner plates:
What size tires are you running with these 18x8 45+ wheels?
If you are running 215's, are you using that 5mm spacer in the rears that I have seen other members using?
Do you need those rear spacers only if you're gonna drop it?
Do you need to roll or cut any fenders?

Thanks for your time and anticipated replies,

DM

Hello!

This was a pretty popular modification about 10-18 years ago. Look for old forums discussing this topic. I have a feeling most currently active members are on the stock 15" or 16" wheels, for one reason or another....

Here is an old thread I found on this topic.

Good luck!

Thanks,
Maaaan!...I did get those pie plates after all and I like them...but I am currently exploring a different look..I took off the plates to really deep clean my 5 spokes and liked the raw/racing look of those wheels without...so now I'm in search of some Lexus caps/covers that will conceal only the counterbore with the lug nuts...I have seen a few covers that have an O.D. of 6 3/8" and was wondering if those will snap into my 5 spokes...I have already mocked up a painted silver cardboard disc to get an idea of this mod and it looks hella dope...I don't want to buy the set of 4 if it won't snap fit properly...I already tried to holla at my local stealership and they were no help...any advice?

Just make sure they are not Made in China copies. I bought a set for a set of stock 17” wheels and they are about 5% oversize. They do not fit properly. Says on the back “Made in China”

I apologize, I'm a bit confused about which wheels set of wheels needs a cover. I think you're asking about the center cover for base stock 3ES wheels. This is a listing for that cover. I don't think the one you linked will work for those wheels.

Ok man lets see if I can put this down in a more crystal clear manner...I have those 5 spokes that were offered on the SC430 2002-2011...? with the dinner plates...I am hoping that instead of using those dinner plates that I can use these center caps:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/29548307422...mis&media=COPY...
even though they are not intended to be installed on the 5 spokes...they were originally intended to be on the 7 spoke SC400 1995-2000...I'm hoping that they will fit because the counter bore on the 5 spokes measures 6 3/8" and these center caps measure 6 3/8"

Item ID: cc74141 Lexus SC 400 Center Cap

1995-2000 Lexus SC400 Lexus Center Caps
Item ID: 74141
Part: 42603-24200 painted
Part: 42603-24210 chrome plated
Size 6 3/8 inches

I believe the link you posted is for some caps that are 2 1/2" or 62mm and they would only act as wheel bearing dust covers...Clear as mud buddy?

Best,
DM

P.S....hey man good lookin' out on tapping in with me on a 10 plus year old mod subject...Jajajaj!
