Default Replacing stock 2003 lexus es300 suspension

Hello I want to replace my stock suspension with something else. I'm looking at BC Racing coilovers. I'm looking for spring rating recommendations, I have no idea what the stock spring rating is but I want something a little bit stiffer but not too hard either. Please and thank you!

This one I'm not sure of, since BC Racing Coilovers are more of the performance side you may have to message them via social media to see what spring rates you want. But a common rule of thumb is to copy OEM specs and adjust the ride height to your liking.

Many of them will come with a 10k/6k combination, or a 8.4k/5.2k or 8.4k/6k.

10k/6k is great on perfectly smooth roads with no bumps, but 8.4k/5k or so has more compliance for the odd bumps and perform almost as well in hard turns.

Mines came with 10k/6k spring combination and i swapped them out for the same dimension Eibach springs in 8.4/5k.

I also installed the godspeed adjustable sway bar end links ( https://shop.redline360.com/products...hoCyg4QAvD_BwE ). On a 20 year car you will also find that the ball joints and control arm bushings are shot. You can get replacement control arms with ball joints and new bushings from 1aauto.com for under $150.

7-8kg/mm in the front and about 5kg/mm in the rear would be perfect in my honest opinion.

Factory is said to be around 7.3kg/mm in the front and 3.7kg/mm in the rear.

I asked for firm, smooth ride, no track at all. The recommendation for my set came with 6kg front and 3kg rears. It'll be interesting to see how they ride.

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't installed them yet. Various reasons with health issues, but mainly worried about the inner fenders rubbing.

I need to have the fenders rolled but after paying for $6k paint, I have second thoughts about it.

You will be able to adjust the ride height. I have mines setup with a two finger gap to the fender, there is no rubbing.

That 6kg/3kg spring setting should be really interesting. Alot of us with the firmer springs, it's really hard, even a bit more than a BMW. So occasionally you do want ot smoother and able to eat up small bumps without jarring you so much. With your softer springs i'd have the ride height setup so it's more than my 2 fingers gap, i'd have it 3 or 4 fingers between tire and fender.

I don't know what wheels you have on your car, but later year models of these came with up to 235x18x45 tires. And guys have considered 245 and 255 which will barely fit and if there is a small issue, just a light fender adjustment of 1/2" or so which shouldn't give your paint any issues.

Default First pass

Here is the install with minimum overlap plus an inch lower.

I've heard they settle a bit after 2 weeks or so.

Default After a couple of months....

The suspension lowered nicely. The back is firm but I can compress the coilovers with my weight pushing on the car.

The fronts are a different story. They will not compress at all by my weight, they feel bottomed out.

I think it might be the KYB stock bump stop and boot They recommend you install. Over the shaft. Any thoughts?
