Hello all! I have a 2000 Lexus ES300 with about 183,000 miles with the 1MZ-FE powertrain, and it is fantastic, however I have been having some shifting problems and was wondering if anyone else knows anything or has had this happen to them. I have taken it into transmission shops and even they cant figure out what is going on. I changed the tranny fluid 6 months ago and no metal whatsoever on the pan, also was a very healthy color and I check my tranny fluid at least once a week so it is not low on fluid. The issue has been happening for 2 years, hasnt gotten better nor worse. The car likes to shift harsh, especially in traffic, but is definitely not slipping and it only happens like every other day, the other days it shifts completely fine. And getting up to speed on a hill the RPMs like to slowly go up, it hits a certain point and it tends to launch forward and almost immediately jump to redline. If anyone has any info on this that would be much appreciated thank you!

Many many threads and posts on the subject I suggest doing a search. Have you ever dropped the pan and changed the filter?

I meant search this forum for example U140E or Amsoil or transmission fluid
If you go with Amsoil and you're still having problems then nothing short of rebuilding the transmission will help.
