Default Rear Brake Pads & Rotors - Suggestions

Hi,

I have a 1998 Lexus ES300. I need to replace the rear brake pads. I'm not sure if the rotors can be resurfaced or not. So I might need new rotors.

What do you suggest for pads and rotors? I'm looking for quality (coated rotors, no rust) but also something budget friendly.

I really like Brembo rotors. I've never had issues with Brembo rotors with ceramic brake pads before on my previous cars.

Autozone sells ACDelco Silver rotors for my car but apparently they rust. I don't see an ACDelco Gold rotor for my car.

What about Bosch?

I appreciate your suggestions!

Thank you!

Can't go wrong with this combo

Another option is this kit

Good rotors but I loath Power Stop brake pads, use the above Akebono pads give the Power Stop pads away.

Hello,

For pads, I usually tend to go OEM, they are guaranteed good quality, and not that expensive in comparison. With that, as suggested above, Akebono pads are about as great if not better, my pads are soon to go as well, so I already got a set of those waiting to try..

It's been a while since I've seen any shop that can resurface rotors, nowadays, getting new ones tends to be cheaper in the long run anyway. I tend to go with Raybestos rotors, never had any issues with them, and their corrosion protection holds up surprisingly well.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

In my personal experience, Centric coated rotors still rust and warp. I recommend Brembo UV coated ones, have used them multiple times and they hold up really well.
