I recently tried the AISIN FIPG when I resealed the center valley plate and valve covers. It worked really well and seemed like the same product for a bit less.

Hello,

This is about the best gasket maker I tried, albeit a little pricey in comparison.

The problem is that it is not exactly designed for coolant, rather for oil. Toyota makes 3 kinds of those as far as I know, Black one for the engine shown here, Orange one for the transmission, Part Number 00295-01281, and Black one for coolant, Part Number is 08826-00100. I personally used that FIPG on water pumps and transmission pans as well with no issues, but then I am not sure what makes the stuff for coolant go for triple the price, maybe there is something to it after all..

Hope this helps and best of luck!
