Can anyone help me figure out the mystery of my Lexus 1999 es300 Alternator
Hey guys I am new here. I'm here because I'm pretty much at my breaking point with my es300. Recently my car broke down because the alternator was bad. So of course I look to find a new one but here's the problem. Every single alternator that is supposedly
for my car is for a three pin rectangular looking wire connector. While mine is for a four pin square looking connector. But the three pin alternator is the only alternator I find for my car on all markets that I have looked at so I'm like "what is going on here." Here are some photos of my old alternator (square four pin) and the ones I find online. Sorry if the photos are kinda weird I'm doing this from my phone.
Odd, maybe someone spliced in a 4-pin connector version alternator? Did the alternator work properly before it died? Google Denso 210-0543 that looks like your alternator.
That is the thing I have had it for about a year and a half and have never had any problems with the alternator, now the check engine sure ( but that is a different problem) so the alternator pretty much went bad on me out of nowhere
The connector is white, that's what every replacement Toyota connector looks like from the dealership. Here is a thread about connector replacement, 3 and 4 pin connectors don't have any difference in wiring, it appears that someone at some point bought a new connector from Toyota and swapped it in instead of the old 3-pin design, interesting, never seen that before. Here is a thread about different alternator options for those cars, which may be helpful as well.
