Where exactly is Bank 1 Sensor 2 oxygen sensor?
2000 Lexus ES300.
OK, folks. Two years ago, with the help from people on this forum, I replaced 2 upstream oxygen sensors: Bank 1 Sensor 1 for code P1130 and Bank 2 Sensor 1 for code P1550. Well, I'll need help again. Today I got the dreadful check engine light on and I got code P0136 which is Bank 1 Sensor 2. All I know is this sensor is one of the 2 downstream sensors on the underside of the car but where exactly this one is located at on my 2000 Lexus ES300, and will I be able to get to it with just a floor jack?
I appreciated all you guys' help 2 years ago. I will appreciate your help again.
thank you very much

Hello,
It is a Downstream sensor that measures the efficiency of the catalyst, it is only there for the emission tests. Here you can find a picture of the location for a Bank 1 Sensor 2, the wiring goes into the interior through a grommet, with the connector under the Driver's seat, a lot better than what it used to be back in the day with one of those connectors tucked way under the carpet somewhere under occupant's legs.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

Arsenii, Thank you so much for your prompt reply. Since it's directly under the driver seat, I think I might be able to get to it with my floor jack. Do you happen to know the part number of this Bank 1 Sensor 2 sensor for 2000 Lexus ES300?

Hi Arsenii. Also I think I was wrong when I said in my original post that my car has 2 downstream sensors. Now that I got more time to look into it, I think there is only 1 downstream sensor and that is the Bank 1 Sensor 2 located after the catalyic converter. And that makes it total of 3 oxygen sensors. Is that correct? I am sorry but I am a little "thick" when comes to car. Just trying to do it myself to save money in this tough economic time...I wish I got a diagram for my 2000 ES300. Thank you.

Here is a Parts Catalogue for your car.
Yes, there is only three O2 sensors in that car, 2 Upstream, and 1 Downstream, unlike in the later models that got an additional Downstream sensor to monitor the condition of each pre-cat individually, giving a better idea of the area to troubleshoot.
Part Number for the Downstream O2 sensor is 89465-33120, you can find one here.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
