Recently bought my first car at 22, a 200k mile Lexus ES350 for about $4500. Could've bought a brand new one but got something I wouldn't worry about breaking since I wanted to work on it myself and not rely on dealers/mechanics.
Have fixed/upgraded a few things now (restored yellow faded headlights, headlight bulbs swapped to white, replaced rear bumper, replaced ABS sensor harness, changed interior bulbs yellow -> white)
Here is a before and after of the drivers seat cover I replaced. Took a few hours to DIY, bought it from an Ebay seller for about $70. Feel free to critique.
Happy to answer questions. Let me know if y'all want more posts about upgrades/repairs I do! Open to recommendations. I don't plan to mod this car, all stock.
Next potential upgrade : installing the GROM Vline Android Auto / Apple Carplay system that goes with the stock head unit.
Go to youtube and type this into the search bar: lexus es350 replace seat cover. It is about the same for any Lexus or Toyota model.
There are several videos.
Someone posted these instructions: it's not complicated to replace the bottom part. You need to remove the seats from the car, you need to remove all the side plastics and then you unclip the leather cover all around. With some pliers you open the steel circles that hold the middle part of the cover (you will reuse those circles). You need to switch the seat heater from the old one to the new one, it should be stitched on a couple of places. It's pretty straight forward.
