Default Drive belt change by age/miles

When is the good time to replace drive belt? Is it every 100k miles or 7 years? It looks OK from outside. Also, what is the typical labor time on this if you have it done in the independent shop? I purchased OEM belt.

Mine has 140000 miles, on original belt. It looks fine and no squeaks.
I replaced the roller bearings once.

Most of the wear is inside of belt. It will likely have fine cracking. If it has deep cracks, replace it. That said, my ocd has me replacing the belt at 100K, along with coolant and thermostat. I also replace the pulley bearings. The belt is relatively easy and should take a qualified mechanic less than 15 minutes to replace. Have them check each pulley-bearing for wear.

I think this is a bit extreme. I would change it. I guess the good news that belts dont snap out of blue, I have yet to see complaint.

Agreed for true-OEM belts, but not for counterfeit or aftermarket belts.

I bought OEM from Bell lexus for like $30, not sure why anyone wants to get aftermarket to save like $10?

Actually, in most cases, the aftermarket is 10-20 bucks more expensive.

Replacing the serpentine belt is relatively cheap preventative maintenance.

If you can change your own oil, you can probably replace the serpentine belt yourself. You just have to be mindful of the belt routing. You will want to remove the front passenger side tire in order to have access to the serpentine belt from below, so you'll need to put the car up on jack stands. Never get under a car that is held up by only a jack.

Harbor freight sells a $18.99 tool for the process. https://www.harborfreight.com/serpen...kit-63689.html

Serpentine belt: Toyota P/N 90916A2010 (Replaces99367-C2090). Only buy from a Toyota or Lexus dealer. Do not buy from Amazon or eBay!!!

I purchase a lot of my parts online from Grieco Toyota https://parts.griecotoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-serpentine-belt-90916a2010
