Engine misfiring vs computer?
Hello,
I was driving today and got 2 warning lights on the dashboard simultaneously, engine light check and ABS breaks lights. The engine started vibrating during traffic stops, feels like misfiring.
I have code reader, it says
P0355 OBD-II:
Ignition Coil "E" Primary/Secondary Circuit
I got home and disconnected the battery to reset car computer. It cleared both lights but I am afraid only temporary.
How hard to get to Coil E in a V6? It is 2GR-FE engine if it makes any difference.
The car should be drivable for short distances? Anything else I can do before booking appointment with Toyota?
Thanks!

Coil E does not identify a specific coil, and it doesn't necessarily mean that you have a bad coil.
Common Problems That Trigger the P0355 Code
- Defective Ignition Coil(s)
- Defective Spark Plug(s)
- Intake Manifold Vacuum leaks
- Carbon buildup in the Throttle Body air passages
- Defective Idle Air Control Valve or Electronic Body
Common Misdiagnosis
- Ignition coil(s) replaced when cause of the malfunction was a vacuum leak
- Spark Plugs replaced when cause of the malfunction was a vacuum leak

What are the chances that fuel injector cleaner will help? Car used old gasoline which was kind of low.

The front row of ignition coils are fairly easy to get to. If the problem pops up again, you may want to pull the front coils to see if any of them have oil on the bottom of them. A leaking gasket can create this situation, and it is not good for the ignition coil.

P0355 is the fifth cylinder, the right coil on the first bank (under the intake manifold). Very hard to get to it.
