2007 ES350 Mark Levinson Amplifier or CD/DVD player problems
The 2007 ES350 with 125K miles with Mark Levinson premium sound system, recently only the sound of the CD/DVD has stopped. All others sounds (cassette tape, FM/AM radio, AUX, and the phone blue tooth) still work good.
The CD/DVD player can still player the movie just no sound from either CD or DVD. All connections on the back of the players and on the amplifier are checked, none loose.
I opened the amplifier and don't see any burn traces on the circuit board, it looks clean...
The question for the experts, is it the CD/DVD player or the amplifier is at fault? How to check or test the amplifier or the CD/DVD?

Fixed the CD/DVD with no sound; while the tape, radio and phone work
It sure did help. Using the information in the 56.pdf you provided, I turned on the CD/DVD player, tried to measure the resistance. Most of the times it opened, and depending on how I poked the DVD connector it showed resistance, I plugged the DVD connector back in and still no sound.
I unplugged the DVD connector again, used a pin insert into the connector, and did the resistance measurement again. This time it showed constant resistance. I then plugged the DVD connector back in again, and this time there was sound.
The lesson learned is unplugging and plugging the DVD connector do not always fix this problem. The connector may also need to be cleaned.
Thank you very much Nevernu!!!
