Default 2009 es 350 Front Strut Assemblies

Both of my front struts have failed, and need to be replaced. For simplicity and safety, I'll be purchasing a strut assembly to replace them rather than the front struts on their own.

It seems for the 2009 es 350, which strut assembly I purchase mostly depends upon the manufacturing date (either manufactured prior to 08/2009 or after). KYB only has front strut assemblies designed for the es 350 manufactured after 08/2009, and my es was manufactured in 2008. Would it work out fine for me to still replace my front struts with these assemblies? Curiously, Gabriel and Monroe quick struts sell the same unit for all es 350s manufactured between 2007-2012, while FCS also separates the 2009 models just like KYB does.

Welcome to CL. See this thread as it has been discussed extensively. On these aging cars almost any problem has already been discussed and the search feature (upper right box) is easy to use. I just searched the word struts to find this: Read and learn.

Thanks for the link to the thread. I've read the post several times, and I believe I've digested most of it. I'm considering going with the same 2010 Beck/Arnley sway bar links with the 2010 KYB strut assemblies, but I've read a lot of reports of the Beck/Arnley's breaking prematurely. I'm wondering if the 2010 TRW sway bar end links would suffice better.

Then get those instead. I am not that picky about end links. I look for those with a bolt on the end, not the Allen screw inset that strips out.
Others here have recommended the Moog sway bar links.
