I agree the spy pics of the ES mule look uncannily suspiciously identical to the Camry mule. I can spot nothing different at all. Same profile, same A-pillar, same grille, even the badge seems to be on the same top of the grille rather than being in the middle as do all other Lexus vehicles. I now conclude that Edmunds has mistaken this white Camry mule as the next ES too.

Hopefully the real ES will look distinctive enough from its brother Camry.

Default Dual vs. Single Exhaust Photos

I posted this over at CSS.

Could it be that the desert series Camry shots were of a 4 cylinder model with a single exhaust, and the Camry you saw was a 3.5 V6 with dual exhaust? It's the only thing that makes sense to me...

???

Sounds like a very reasonable explanation to me.

Default 2007 ES 350 Transmission

I don't know if it is true or not but I was test driving a GS a couple of days ago and talking to the salesman about deciding between the 2007 ES and the 2006 GS. He wanted me to buy the GS, of course, since he could have an immediate sale but when we talked about the new ES, he told me that it would use the 6 speed transmission being used by the new GS. He said that Lexus always had trouble with the 5 speed transmissions that it is currently using but there have been no problems with the new 6 speed version.
