there is nothing cheap about that interior my friend...or the exterior. that IS the actual new 07 camry SE trim. Interior is almsot Lexus IS.. but definitely plus and refined into lexus terriotory. for a car $19-20K...this car is a steal. with toyotas leading reliability, quality, and value.

Ditto. It's killing the other cars in interior wise when it comes to both interior material quality & BQ. Camry > Accord, jokingly out of the ballpark of a Maximas which are only fractions better than domestics when it comes to car interior. You really have to jump to the Europeans to get as good / better interior layout & quality. & msot of the time when you do - you're also paying a lot more for it.
It's for sales. Remember that people eat up the aluminum/ faux aluminim & gunmetal finishes. Hey... It's scheduled to be the styling rage for another 3 years, so we might as well deal with it!

Looks evolutionary but not revolutionary over the previous Camry...except for the details which are a big step ahead. Can we expect that the New ES will transition similarly? I'm fearful of L-fInesse ruining the soft curves of the ES...

New ES on Car & Driver TV?
I saw a quick piece on C&D TV about spied cars today, they had a short section on the new Camry. The car they showed had heavy camo but the headlights didn't look anything like the revealed Camry shots we've seen. They also had an interior shot and the steering wheel appeared to have Lexus function buttons and the center stack was nothing like the 07' Camry "garage" spy shots.
I tried to find these shots on the C&D website but couldn't come up with it. You guys who have C&D TV on cable might want to watch the latest show and see if I'm calling this correctly but I think their spy shots are of the new ES and not the Camry.....

That's because Edmunds has it wrong! Those shots are of the Camry.......
The spy shots showed on C&D TV of the alleged Camry had a front end that didn't look anything like the Edmunds photos.
