Yes, those were the wheels on the GS450h when it was unveiled last year :

Yes the ES350 looks better than we've seen on that picture.

Sorry to go off topic here, but do we get the details and specs for the GS 450h and RX 350 at this show as well?

For those that see a resemblance to current ES, it's because they used the same shape headlights on the new 5th gen. I like the exterior, looks nice, and sure it looks like a CLS, but then, the CLS is the one that looks like the ES, not the other way around .

I expected a bit more from the design, but still I'm impressed, and I really like the exterior. I feel though that this is what the 4th gen ES should have been. But knowing the target market, I guess they didn't want to make the new ES too daring. It's more evolutionary than revolutionary, but I like it. The rear looks very unique and Japanese, I love it!

I hope they offer different rims ... bigger rims, or 5 spokes would REALLY make the car look nice.

I read through the press release ... no mention of the ultra-lux package in there either , but, some options were mentioned, such as radar cruise control and that glass roof. I really think the glass roof looks great. I'm still a bit dissapointed that no features above and beyond the IS were really mentioned. I expect the ES to offer more luxury than the IS, so hopefully Lexus will still surprise me. The 14 speaker ML system is definitely nice though.

One unique feature, and it's a big one, is optional rear seat side-airbags ! That means you can have up to 10 airbags on the ES. 2 front, 2 knee airbags, 2 front side, 2 side curtain, AND optionally, 2 rear side airbags. That's awesome! This is a first in class feature folks . Lets hope this isn't the only feature that the ES has over the IS, well that and the glass roof.

And for the interior, dissapointment I guess in that there isn't wood above the glovebox, but looking at the full interior shots, I definitely like it. The oval above the centre dash is actually quite elegant, and like expected doesn't look that awkward. More wood would have really differentiated the ES though from the GS and IS.

I don't understand how the ES has this blue but not the IS or GS. And why can't I have the panaromic roof on the IS/GS or LS?

Hot Damn!!! Sign me up!!

I just wonder if that brown color is the Amber Pearl or Golden Almond metallic, and will Lexus be smart and offer them with black leather??? It would look really good with a black interior, very rich.......

Car looks good to me, better than I expected. I like the center dash from seeing the new pics of the interior. Some may be disappointed with the relatively sparse wood trim compared to the current, but the interior looks nice & clean to me overall. The panorama roof is a nice feature

Wink

Thanks for all the info 1SICK........I am liking that blue colour! Although I prefer a regular sunroof.......& not feeling the glass roof. I'm glad they don't have those gawdly orange turn signals in the rear tail lamp housings.
