That blue will look much better on the IS350 than the blue onyx they have now but it looks very good on the ES too from those pics .

WOW, new ES looks so much better than the current.
The taillight is somewhat a confused look

Since most of the new goodies were mentioned, anybody notice that the front arm rest SLIDES
back???

I hope Lexus have more wheel options.

Yes on the arm rest, which is OK until somebody sits in the middle and get's it slid into their lap...

They have (2) wheel options:
17" - 7 spoke in silver finish
17" - 10 spoke in graphite finish - Ultra Luxury only

So the engine is exactly the same as the one in the Camry?

And the 4 hp advantage over the Camry comes from the fact that the ES350 was tested with premium fuel whereas the Camry V6 was tested with regular fuel?

(In other words, the Camry V6 would get 272 hp if tested with premium fuel).

Who really cares, I think the ES350 blows away the new Camry V6 inside & out !!
I like it much better than I thought I would, not that I will likely buy one . . .

I'm quite disappointed with the lack of any rear-seat goodies in the so-called "Ultra Luxury Package" (rear-seat side airbag notwithstanding), not even the reclining rear seats available on the new Camry and Avalon! What's up with that?? I guess the name "Ultra Luxury Package" really set my expectations too high. Thought it would at least get a goodie or two from the "same" "Ultra Luxury Package" on the '01 LS430. Nope. Not one thing at all.

Still don't like the interior with that oval dash top and a serious lack of wood. Stark and lifeless, it simply doesn't open my eyes like the '02 did.

The front looks too much like a Camry from most angles but is otherwise an improvement to the current front (yeah I agree, anything is better than the current front). The rest of the exterior I like, but not necessarily more than the current exterior.

True. But I kinda like that concept Blue they had at Detroit over both. Although its a bright blue to attract the younger crowd I suppose.

Err... I wasn't asking about a comparo between the ES and the Camry.

I'm interested in how much more power premium gas gets you for the same engine.

My guess would be Gspyders and Tormuline(or whatever they are called) to be Dealer Installed options. These wheels look like updated versions of the standard 16in wheel. 5 spoke rims I think would look best. Like the current 17in ES330 wheels.

Looks much better than the old one.

Seems though that Camry, Avalon, ES, IS, and GS and new LS are quite similar!

There's lots of room in the back seat, I doubt sliding the armrest back would be a problem!

It looks to me that they have sacrificed thigh support to maximize leg room. Not necessarily a good thing.

The current ES has much deeper rear seats:

EDIT: Looking at the pic above, I was once again reminded of how much better I like the interior of the current ES. Why does Lexus degrade the new interior like that?
