I don't do a lot of night driving anymore but tonight I was really noticing the brights on my Camry were not that great. On the 2 mile road to my house there are deer jumping out of the woods ALL the time.
I feel like I'm living in the jungle here! I've seen deer (BIG ones), possums, racoons, woodchucks, foxes, badgers, turkeys, vultures, pheasants, frogs and turtles all running across the road at night.

One night years ago my wife was driving on this really isolated road and I was the passenger just gazing out of the passenger window. Out of the blue this huge pointed buck ran right into the read door of the car and smashed it. He was all messed up.
Scared the ever livin' sheeet out of me! I called my buddy who was about 5 minutes away and he told us to stay there.

When he got there he said "Man, thats a NICE buck, look at those antlers!"
Mr. Buck was having seizures so my buddy grabbed his rifle and finished him off.
He then had me help drag him into the back of his pickup.

The head is now in his den and he ate the meat!

He always teases my wife to try and get him another one!

Back to the lights, Consumers gave the IS regular headlights a poor mark for brightness.

What I really need to do is go up to Lexus tommorow night and drive one with HID's to see if they are OK for me. I probobally should just order them.
Yea if your eyes are sensitive to light as you say they are, then you might want to test them out. Thats the safest thing to do. My eyes are not that sensitive to light, but I dont recall horrible glare from HID's especially Projector style HID's.

I assume when IS got poor ratings for the regular lights many were probably comparing them to IS's HIDs that actually swivel as well. They are incredibly better than regular halogens.

Funny story about the Buck.

I know my one buddy was always being flashed.
It might happen. You could reaim it a little lower if you want to, but then you will be putting less usable light out on the road. It only happened to me once in my buddies TL as the way the headlights are designed, the fog lights are right next to the Bi-Xenons. When both are on it produces a lot of glare towards oncoming traffic.

I called the dealer for the 400th time again today and tried to add the HID's. He said if the car is in production already they may not be able to. If it's not they should be.
I actually would rather the car be in production because I don't want to wait 3-4 months to get it.

Can anyone talk about the changes to the NAV in the 2007 ES 350 versus the ES330 vs the 2002 ES300?

I have a 2002 and love the DVD NAV and was wondering how much it's changed in 5 model years. (even though I've had the car 4 years).

Sorry for being a 4-year lurker. I'll start posting more.

It appears that the new ES will have exactly the same 5th-gen nav system as the new IS with that fine-looking high-resolution screen. If you're still wondering what it is like, visit a dealer and take a look at a nav-equipped IS to find out.

Direct from the Vancouver Auto Show, 'Preliminary" pricing on ES350 in Canada is going to be:
$42,900 - Base model.
~$48.500 - Premium Package
~$52,500 - Premium with Mark Levinson and Nav.

Dealer delivery fee will be extra.

They have the ES350 rotating around on their main display. There is price and brief specification information at the front of the display. On sale date is May. I am sure the US will be on sale in April, as expected. Premium Package will probably be different to US Premium Package as well.

Current Canadian MRSP is $39,990. ES330 Canadian base model includes heated\cooled seats, memory seats for driver and passenger and electrochromatic mirrors. I am sure they'll continue this, and throw in some extra content in the new model considering the price rise.

Motorweek, shown on most Public Braodcast televisions stations on Saturdays will have a review of the Lexus ES350 this week.

I think!

At least thats what my Direct TV menu tells me.

The website says it will be shown on April 28.
www.motorweek.org

They have a show listed of the testing of the new Camry which should also be interesting with a written review HERE.

I tape it every week myself, great show.

Be sure to watch it, tape it or TIVO it!

I missed this show today if it was on. Can one of you tech savvy guys turn it into an electronic file and post the video on this forum or is this impossible to do?

They didn't play that show today, I guess in different areas they play different episodes.
It is listed on the website to play in about 3 weeks. I tape it every week to my DVD recorder, when they play it I might be able to post as a Real Video file
