This new one looks way better outside. However, I don't like that horseshoe looking console and there isn't enough wood in there. Overall, a nice car that will well....I predict it will sell better than every previous ES. It looks like a proper lexus.

New one looks much better outside, it looks more premium. I also think it looks as luxurious as IS or GS inside as well...

of course, we all have to see the real thing

excellent car, lexus lineup is a totally new beast once the LS460 comes out to complete the sedan redesignment. Even tho the ES isnt suppose to be sporty the long shifter exposing a bar of chrome looks very strange, they could at least shorten it, seems outta place
more wood doesnt mean better, why would the passenger be looking straight at the dash ahead, the center console looks 100x better than before , im sure the passenger would rather be looking at that. The dashes should draw attention to the center console which this new design does.

When I see both cars at a distance, I see how more streamlined and the ES is especially in the C-pillars. I see how the vertical body lines hug more, and is not so flat like the Avalon, nor does it try to push itself stylistically (no flared fenders). I see a front end in the ES that is F1 inspired, with its "nose", not some rubbermaid piece reminiscent of the 97' camry. I also see a rear that has minimal trunk overhang, to make it seemingly look like a hatchback of sorts for that sporty demeanor. Sorry, but to me, nothing blurts out it's Avalon origins.
