directly into the Lexus on the screen so no need to download like before. The ES350 allows Bluetooth without nav and uses the radio screen or voice commands to pair the Bluetooth but it's not as easy as the Nav version. You can program 17 one touch dials, 20 voice command dials by name, and 6 dials with pauses in the new system. You can voice command the number and you just say it quickly and it usually gets it then hit either the voice command switch and hold for a second or the off the hook switch for a second and it dials the number. You can pair up to 6 phones for use one at a time.
As far as Verizon the new Pocket PC Windows based phone is problematic too. In Sprint the Samsung (Razr clone) phones are not compatible either. The Treo 700W is another phone that's not working to my knowledge. The GSM Razr works very well. There is a different graphic interface on the Verizon version but it works well too. I would buy the car first then get the phone and try it out and if it has issues then you can return it right away....

as i've paired many Razr's GSM and Verizon. They work fine. The Samsungs do not. The call waiting issue has only been with Verizon, mainly Motorola 815's. There are many sources that say this and that but I deal with all Lexus models and all phones all the time. Talk about testing....

Hey all... about the Bluetooth phone hookup...
The Verizon phone I'd recommend is: Motorolla E815 Bluetooth Phone
Our dealer cringed when we were 30 min after closing... and I insisted to connect my E815 phone to our new ES350 nav system. He thought he was in for it.
Took about 2 minutes to connect... mostly navigating through the E815's menus to get the phone to see the car's connection. Once the E815 was connected... it is a breeze ~ just works.
When you get the connection, it comes up as "HANDS FREE".
Worked first time; and every time I get into the car. Nice.
As for the "removed features" from Verizon... that's sad. I'll check more into it next time.

Otherwise it works fine though.

PsychDoc:
My wife just bought the RAZR V3 GSM. Is that the same phone you are using? As for using the Lexus NAV it seems like a lot of buttons to push to make a "hands free call". It would sure be nice if Lexus had a voice command for "Speed Dial 1", etc.

I think the GSM version of the Razr and the Verizon (CDMA) versions are altogether different. Verizon does not use GSM. They also disable many of the features of their Bluetooth phones, OBEX in particular. So the GSM and CDMA versions of the Razr are pretty much completely different "under the skin."
Good luck.
