Scheduled maintenance for ES350
I was wondering if any of you owners of ES350 or ES300/330 always go to Lexus dealer for oil change and other scheduled maintenance or can you go to Toyota dealer for that? I understand that a first 30-day and than 5k miles service is complimentary, but afterwards not sure if it makes sense paying close to $100 for an oil change when I can get it for $30 at the dealer where I service my wife's Highlander. Of course, its not the same service where you get free sandwiches, soda, computers w/internet, flat screen TV and free lifetime car wash (those are perks from my dealer), but still doesn't justify triple of a regular cost. What do you think?

I think buy an oil pan for $2, a big case of Denso filters from toyota (or some first time fit Denso filter's online) for say $30.
Then buy 5 quarts of mobil1 synthetic for $18 at walmart.
It's the best oil you can buy for your v6... Without special ordering something like AMSoil - which then isn't *better* it just has the possible potential to last longer if you're doing very extended drain itnervals. (Say over 15,000 miles - with bypass filters)
Anyways. Mobil1 synthetic. Can't beat it in a Toyota v6.
Keep all reciepts in a little book & keep a log of every time its serviced.

Thanks for a reply, but I was actually not looking for DIY answer LOL!!! So, does anybody goes to Toyota dealer for scheduled maintenance of their Lexus?

I've had my car in for the 5000 mile ( provided free by my dealer which is 2 hrs away ) and my service tech says that a Toyota dealer would be fine for normal maintenance. She said to make sure to bring it to Lexus for the more involved services ( not just oil change and tire rotation).

Has anyone else brought the ES350 in for a 30 day service? There are a couple dealer settings I want changed but I thought that could wait for the 5000 mile service since my dealer is over an hour away.

THe 30 day service is actually just the LPS, which is the Lexus Personalization Service. What they do is to customize the vehicle's setting to your liking (such as pressing the open button once and it will unlock all 4 doors and etc).

That is one of the settings I had them change. I also asked them to set the headlights to cut off when the door is opened instead of staying on for 30 seconds. But they didn't do that one so now I have to ask again.

Just had the 5k service this morning (complimentary ). I gotta say that the $50 is worth it if you take into account that you got a free car wash which generally runs over $20 in AZ, and for $5 you can use a Lexus loaner for the day. Plus you get the Lexus quality customer service.
If you go to any of the other combo oil change / car wash providers in AZ you will end up paying around the same so IMOA it makes sense to take it to the dealer.

Where can I get a repair manual for my new ES350? I'd like one for the more routine tasks that I can do myself, like changing brakes, rotors, plugs, belts, oil, etc. Although I don't need a manual to tell me how to remove and replace a spark plug (for example), I prefer to get that manual dirty because it has all the specs I need (such as gaps, torque, oil quantities, etc.) and i don't want to get my manual dirty.
I prefer to do all my own oil changes but a quick look in the engine compartment did not reveal where the oil filter is.

Everything you are looking for is in here: http://techinfo.toyota.com/
But, its a paid site to access their info. I haven't signed up in there yet (and probable never will), but other CL members highly recommend it. You can probably pay for a week of an access and download all of the info at once...
