Please Help - Bluetooth Question for all ES350 Owners
Whenever I am using the bluetooth and recieve a 2nd call on call waiting, both lines disconnect when either caller hangs up. I took my Motorola Razr to the store I bought it from and was told that this was a software issue and they needed to load a different operating system on my phone. They asked me to call Lexus to learn which operating system works with the Lexus. I spent almost 2 hours being bounced around between Lexus, the Lexus bluetooth specialists and Motorola. Finally, a Lexus customer service representative told me that the Lexus bluetooth does not support call waiting and that I needed to disable call waiting on my cell phone when making a call to keep from having call waiting disconnect the original call. She said that this is true for all Lexus vehicles and all phones.
I'd like to know if all other ES 350 owners experience this problem or if I got some misinformation. Please post and let me know if a second cell phone call makes your phone disconnect when using bluetooth.

Your experience is NOT what happens in my car.
Whever I am on a call and someone else tries to reach me, I hear the same tone that I would hear on my cell phone letting me know that someone is on call waiting.
I cannot switch over to that person, but if I terminate the call I am on quickly enough, the person on call waiting will ring in my car.
So, if I am on a call, I can quickly tell that person that I'll call them back when I hear the call waiting tone. If I do it quickly enough, I won't miss the other person's call.
By the way, I too have a Motorola Razr through Verizon Wireless. I hope this helps...Tony

Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like I got some misinformation from Lexus corporate. I'm just going to have to keep searching until I find the answers. I appreciate all of your help.

I thought I would give this thread some new life.
Any other feedback on the VZW RAZR v3C would be appreciated. I will be using the bluetooth system that runs through the stereo, not the NAV. Any connection problems, additonal software issues?
Thanks

I'm going tomorrow to pickup my license plates from a dealer and they are going to pair up my Verizon RAZR V3c (is this a NJ thing to have the same phone/provider? LOL!!!). Will let you know since I have exactly the same setup w/o NAV.
I wasted half-an-hour of my time trying to do it myself, and had trouble with it. The Lexus part of the setup is straight forward and easy to follow with a talking instructions. When it comes to Verizon RAZR V3c (and I have the latest upgraded firmware), it scanned for the HandsFree bluetooth device, found it (even so the name was not displayed), than when I click on it to enter the special security code given by Lexus - it just shows up with a string of hex numbers and nowhere in my RAZR menu do I have an option to enter the code. I tried a few times and even went back to RAZR manual where it tells you that a name of the device will show up and give you an option to enter a security code.

They offered to set it up for me when I picked up my car, but along with a boring walkthrough of explaining every feature in the car, I had no patience waiting for this while I have my brand new ride infront of me
Yeah, I am not impressed with RAZR so far. I had LG before and had it hacked inside out. With Verizon RAZR, you have to flash the EPROM and than you are not even guaranteed it will work. Every other RAZR carrier uses Java operating system, while VRZ still uses BREW and it makes it difficult to customize or to mod.

Sounds like I made the right decision to buy the E815 over the RAZR. It was a breeze to initialize, but the fact that Verizon disables the transfer of data feature really pizzes me off. I haven't taken the time to manually input any numbers in the car yet. But I discovered that I can speed dial a number from my phone and it automatically transfers over to the car. Far easier and quicker than going through the voice prompts on the car.

FYIW - I purchased an unbranded SLVR on e-bay and have had zero problems with it. It matched perfectly, I can dial on the phone and it will automatically x-fer to the car's bluetooth, I can x-fer my conversation from the car back to the handset when I leave the car, etc. My only complaint is not being able to x-fer the entire phonebook in one shot, and it does not display battery status on the screen (features that are missing from many phones, according to letstalk.)

That was kind of an embarrassing experience going over to dealer and showing them exactly what I was doing at home to pair up my phone and.... it worked over there in a second!!! They looked at me like I was crazy. Oh well, at least I got my license plates and it was not a completely wasted trip. And, this confirms there is no problem with Verizon V3c RAZR.

This must be some cosmic law that mere mortals cannot meaningfully affect as it seems essentially immutable and omnipresent.

I'm still having a problem with my RAZR V3 and it is the original problem that started the thread. For those of you with this phone, does it automatically disconnect both calls when you have a 2nd call on call waiting and one caller hangs up? If not, could you please tell me the version of operating software you are using on your RAZR? According to Lexus, this happens with every phone and every Lexus vehicle but I'm not sure they are correct.
