with the IS350, you'd be racing, but you can't fit as many girls in your car. Some girls might think you're cool, but with the ES350 you'd be approached by the better girls who know you're not the punk kid who likes to total their brand new suped up rice-mobiles (lotsa asian kids in LA with modded hondas and IS). You prolly wont get laid because of your ES350, but as stated in another post, it makes a great first impression.

So far the result is as I had expected, the majority falling between 26~50. I'm surprised to see the 26~30 being the 2nd largest group though. I think Lexus did a good job making the new ES350 image appealing to the younger group than the previous generations.

Of course with such small sample of 50ish voters this result isn't very accurate yet, but there is definitely a trend here.

Here you can see the age check for the 2nd generation IS250/350:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/pol...ts&pollid=1949

Their poll shows most IS owners are between the age of 18~35, with only very few older than 36.

its appealing to the younger age group more because parents are realizing kids these days love to push their cars to the limit... now giving their kids a luxury front wheel drive sedan... all they can do is jsut cruise... at least thats my opinion...

im 18 btw... and proud owner of a smokey granite ES350 i got jsut a few weeks ago from my dad... when i do hit hard turns.. it feel as though the car would loose control and i would end up with massive understeer due to the weight, size, and the way the car is designed... so i take it slow.. jsut as my aprents would've hoped....

and it might be that people are making more at a younger age since its getting more competative out there in the business world...

A gentle bump for the new comers to the forum -- and there are quite a few.

Just a thought, but do you think a forum like this might appeal to, and be accessed more frequently by a younger demographic, skewing the #'s towards the young side? FYI, I'm certainly in the higher range on the age spectrum...

Me too. Even 21-25 is a surprise considering the type of car the ES is.

Actually what you suggested is very likely what we're seeing here. However there's not much we can do about it...

Since the poll was for primary drivers and not necessarily owners, maybe a few people who live at home and drive a family car responded to the poll.

Age is just a state of mind, I replaced a 350Z Roadster with the ES350 and I am 54..... won't bother saying what weekend toy's sit in the garage just waiting for Friday nights to arrive. Just enjoy what you drive and treat it with respect

I'm 23 and yes, my dad just bought me the ES 350. Might be a little too old to get a car from daddy? Well, when I first started driving he told me he'll buy me a new car once he knows that I can actually drive it around safely. So I was stuck with a hand-me-down lexus from mommy, but my dad recently realized I should get a new car so he decieded to buy me one. I, still a student, can not afford to buy a car that's over 40k. ^^

Your father sounds like a great guy. I think I would have asked dad if he would mind using the money for a down payment on a house or condo and kept driving mom's car for a few more years. It's a buyers housing market right now.

Looks to me like the new ES has basically a broad appeal - no particular age group is "winning"...
