I'm 21, and I absolutely love the car. Although it's not as exciting to drive as the IS (which I test drove), the ES350 is just so comfortable. Plus I love the bigger rear seats, because I tend to drive my friends and family around (yeah, I tend to be the family chauffeur and designated driver).

As some people have mentioned, us 20-25 year olds tend not to have the money to buy such an expensive car...my dad got it for me because he didn't want me to get a motorcycle The ES350 will also be the family car, so it' will not exactly be 'mine.'

I think there are too many overindulgent parents out there (or with too much money). Kids should learn the value of a dollar and not be handed the keys to such a fine piece of machinery at such an early age. My life experience has shown me again and again that most of these spoiled brats never learn to appreciate such things.

I'm 24 and I bought the car (myself duh) because I feel too old for all that "young people car ****", plus I have a little girl and myG35 backseat wasn't cutting it. I thought when I turned 21 and bought the G I would feel as though I was driving a more mature vehicle, but that wasn't the case still driving it at 24 so.... I hope to step it up to the Ls in a couple of years though.

I totally agree with you, more people should make their children work hard to earn money to get what they want. Unfortunately my girlfriend is one of the spoiled , but I'm working on that. She is 22, and until we moved into our brand new house 6months ago she was spoiled. With a 8 month old daughter and a buncha bills and mortgage, she's learning the value of a dollar.

Glad to hear it:

That is the way that you can respect what you are fortunate enough to have WORKED FOR!

Hello to ALL:

Just joined the forum/club!

My 2008 Ruby Red/Cashmere, UL is due between 24 Sep and 1 Oct. Since I ordered I've heard a lot about the Blue Onyx. Problem is: I think I might like the blue better. I'm not sure what to do? Are they hard to keep clean?

OBTW, I'm 58.

Before I bought the car, I was convinced to go for the G. But I have a friend who already owned the G, so I just want a different one.

I think this poll is skewed to the younger crowd because the older crowd aren't as computer literate and won't be able to find this forum!

My wife just saw two people in their 70's drive off in separate new 07-08 ES350's. My wife just groaned when she saw them. Otherwise she loves the car!

Since the ES350 came out last year, according to JD Power, over 50% of the people buying/leasing the car are over the age of 56. I would think this trend will continue, as the ES has always appealed to this age group.

All the other people I've seen driving the ES are over 50 yrs old. Only seen 1 other person excluding myself who was also in there 20s on campus.

I Pulled up to an old lady driving an IS 250 and I thought to myself... we should really trade cars. Im not trying to say young adults should drive IS's and older folks should drive the ES but that its just.... ohh what the heck I am lol.

I've seen a number of older drivers in 250's around here. It makes sense. Nice styling, manageable size, good handling, decent performance & mileage and AWD for midwestern winters.

my father left this world, and my mom thinks the car's greenhouse visibility is too bad (due to raked profile) compared to her 2000 E320 4matic. She was supposed to start driving this car, and I was to drive the E320 or sell it for something "more my age" like a civic Si or mazda3. But now i practically own and drive the ES like its mine. I have thought about selling/trading the ES, but due to the rising CDN dollar we would lose a tonne of money, and the E320 is only worth about $20k...and i can't think of any cars i could get for that amount of money i would rather have...financially our situation makes the most sense. Besides with Lexus reputation for reliability, i can keep this car for a good 10 years+ if i wanted. to get the most "value" out of it. my previous car, first car was my grandpas 1989 Mercedes 190e 2.6, which i have recently sold....missin the RWD, but winter is coming around so oh well.
Sorry for the unrelated material, my second post on the forum

**yes i have just read the forum topics about reliability and tranny flares, and CR rating drops
