Default HID Question?

How do you know if you have HID's? My dealer told me I have them. It is not listed on the sticker of the car. I have the 2007 premium plus package, with navigation, and the sticker was 40,270. The sales person told me that all models being shipped to the Midwest with Navi have HID but the sticker of the car does not list it.

This should be easily distinguishable day or night by simply looking at the lights. They will appear to be the color of daylight as opposed to the traditional yellow-white color. They will also go through a start-up sequence by leveling themselves. They should appear on the sticker as an individual item included with one of the packages.

From your msrp price I'm guessing you did not get parking sensors or afs lights.

The AFS is included with the HID lights. This is available as a stand alone or is packaged with the all the UL setups (I believe) and most of the Premium packages. I'm almost certain that you have these lights in your vehicle.

My MSRP was about the same and I have the AFS lights. No parking sensors. I have the Premium package with almost all the options found on the Premium Plus.

Not all PP+ have HID. My old MSM did NOT have it. If it has it, it would be stated on the sticker somewhere. Either mixed in with the package details or one the left column with all the features. If you still can't find it, do a little test. Park head-in close (approx 1 foot) to a wall. Turn on the headlights. As Pajaha1 stated, it goes through a startup calibrating sequence. You can see it off the reflection that it does a "flip" or some type of movement, and it is extremely bright white light. When driving at night on a dark road, you can literally see the light beam turn as you turn....kinda like a very smooth floating movement. That's how I would describe it.

The HID is listed as a individual item and as stated isn't included in the Prem+ package, but it is included in all the UL's.

Default HID Installation Help

i was wondering if you can get HID installed from the dealer if it's not included in your car? Let me know, i'm very interested in getting it done.

Very doubtfull.........but even if it was possible it would be an extremely expensive modification.

AFS also has an on/off button under the dash to the right of the tire pressure reset button.
