Default Definitive Sirius Tuner Infomation Needed (FOUND!)

As some of you know, I just picked up my 2007 ES350 and love it, but the lack of an integrated Sirius tuner is a major concern for me. I am looking to solve this ASAP.

So this is a call for information. I will write up a summary with links and info based on what I hear back.

I am looking for 2007 ES350 owners with Sirius installed. Please respond with:

- Model and year of Lexus (to confirm)
- Do you have Navigation?
- Do you have ML Audio System?
- Confirm that Sirius is integrated into factory radio?
- Who did the install? List specific dealer or 3rd party installer.
- If known: which parts did they install?
- Where is your Sirius antenna? Front windshield? Trunk? Other?
- Do you have "the flaw" aka 10 character limitation on display?
- Any other problems? I.e. sound quality, reception, etc.?

Also, if you have any information about possible3rd party solutions, please post that too.

So far, I know that VAISTech is working on a solution, due to be released in September:

http://www.vaistech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68
http://www.vaistech.com/

(update 8/13 - the VAISTech unit is in testing, due to release in September)

There have also been mentions of the Factory Interactive solution working on the 400h, not sure if that is the same generation nav system as the 2007 ES350:

http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums...howtopic=24648
http://www.factoryinteractive.com/

(update 8/13 - the FI unit remains unconfirmed)

UPDATE 8/13 (GOOD NEWS): I was able to install the 2006 ES330 Sirius Kit successfully in my 2007 ES350. Scroll down in thread for more info.

Update: I have had a few PM's about the 2006 ES330 Sirius Kit (part numbers PTS31-00052 & PTS31-33051) working fine, except for the 10 character flaw.

I have ordered the parts and will be trying the install this weekend. Will report back with information and pics as needed.

If anyone has the Sirius ES330 kit working --- please let me know - is the install in the trunk (by the amp) or at the rear of the head unit?

Thanks - I've order the parts from lexus-parts.com, but I'm trying to install the ES330 kit in the ES350 so the instructions aren't a match and officially Lexus won't talk about it or do it. Success has been reported from 3rd party installers.

I have the ES330 Sirius install instructions and the ES350 XM install instructions --- I'll figure something out, but if anyone has done it I figured this bit of info was key.

Cool

Read thru this thread and see if your answer is there. I read it and the people with the 06 GS and they have the satellite from the rear near the amp and one guy confirmed that there is the flaw with the 10 character limit. I am not sure but thought i would throw this out your way.

Default Success!

Pleased to report the 2006 ES330 Sirius Kit plugs in easily (reasonably) to the back of the 2007 ES350 Stereo and integrates nicely. I have the ML Audio system with Navigation and it sounds great and I get on-screen display. The text is limited to 10 characters, which has been described here before.

I bought the parts for about $300 from lexus-parts.com and did the install myself (my wife helped) in about an hour.

I will write up instructions as soon as I can, but for those interested - it can be done, somewhat easily and not too expensively.

Great! Want to fly to California and do mine now? While you are at it, I would like that permanent Nav hack too.
