Has any DIY'er done an oil change on their 350 yet? I'm going to attempt to do it myself but was wondering if you could get an oil filter at the local parts shop. What do you recommend?

get genuine lexus oil filters at the dealership. Use the recommended oil type from any parts store. You should be all set. In the past i find that using 3rd party oil filters yielded less than optimal results, as the seal isnt as tight as factory filters.

Na it aint that. It just depends on who makes the filter.
Wix/Purolators are good.
Toyota/Lexus filters are all Denso. Denso filters are alittle more restrictive than most, but the filtration is top notch. They're also cheap & universal. Toyota only uses one oil filter bolt on pattern & last I remember, only two sizes of oil filter (small & large).
Go to Toyota & buy a big box!
FYI, keep all the rescipes, and keep a written log of maintenance. It'll help the resale greatly. (I saw an average restored vette on barret jackson one night. it was worth about 60grand 1 owner, but wound up going for somewhere between 90-105 grand because the guy had a hand written journal of every drive)

I personally like Wix since they are not too restrictive and are priced decently. Purolator PureOne are good too. If you want wix filters this site has good prices. http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlook...&TempYear=2006
P.S I searched oil filters for 2007 lexus es350 but nothing came up so the above link is for the 2006 es 330.

FYI...
the new es350 utilizes a cartridge type media replacement instead of the old traditional filter (media + housing). it is similar to the is350 filter media. however, if you look at the part numbers, the is350 and es350 part numbers are different. you can check out the correct parts for the es350 on the sewell site. i haven't seen any 3rd party filters yet for the es350.
