This is correct. My dealer keeps 2 400hs for like VIP people, the usual ES/RXs and they do have a few IS 250s.....

I've been in twice at my dealership and got the same 07 RX base model. 1st time w/1600 now w/ 2300 3 weeks later. I like the higher seating position but otherwise I prefer everything in the ES & couldn't see buying an SUV. In fact the next car will be a coupe, so hopefully Lexus will have another coupe besides the SC or the IS 500 I've heard a little about.

There was a GS at Betts in Iowa from what the service manager said, but not available when I needed it... Instead I'm in an ES330. Nice, but too soft for me.

I got an ES loaner when I had the IS in for service.

The only trouble with the loaners is that they have huge sticker in the rear windshield that says HOFFMAN LEXUS LOANER VEHICLE. Its a bit like wearing a sign on your back that says Kick Me. Makes me a bit embarrassed, because if I were going to drive a lexus, it would be a GS!

Ugh! That's horrible! Johnson Lexus here in Raleigh has personalized license plates of "JLEXUS14", "JLEXUS15", etc. And I was embarrassed by that....

I stopped by Hoffman a couple of weeks ago and saw the ES's with the large writing across the back. That's ridiculous. It would be embarassing to have to use one of those loaners. I'd rather they got a loaner from Enterprise. At least they don't put decals on the car saying its a rental.

OK, let's see...big ugly sticker that says it's a loaner from Lexus and getting it for free (and using their gas) -or- paying money for a rental (maybe a Dodge Neon {hi}). The arithmetic is pretty easy to me.

BTW, if you go to Putnam Lexus in Redwood City, Ca., do not accept "PLEX54". It is a Moon Shell Mica (pink) ES350 with a gray interior and a huge coffee stain in the passenger foot-well. It had 5000 miles on it when I had it and it had been seriously abused.

Lexus picks up the rental fee. So no cost to the customer.

I've been driving an IS250 AWD loaner for the past two days. The fuel economy is horrendous and the road noise from the tires is very aggravating. I was considering this along with the ES when I bought and this reinforces my decision. The car has no low-end power and takes forever to get to cruising speed. I will say that I felt more confident driving in the rain today, but that's really the only advantage I can think of. The car has 4,000 miles and looks like it has been to hell with scratches and dents all over it. It's amazing how people treat things that don't belong to them.

It's always fun to drive new cars around though for people that love driving.

I test drove the IS250 AWD in typical NW weather and even with worn tyres (it was used at the IS launch event earlier that week), it felt confident. I thought power was decent, certainly not mind blowing but definitely feels powerful enough. The IS350 that I tested afterwards was a whole new story.

That's funny

Interesting side note..a BMW dealer here in San Diego uses Camrys as loaners...has a big sticker in the back also stating it's a BMW loaner vehicle.

Well, the bonus of a Lexus loaner is that you get a Lexus. When I had my Prius in for a recall (they fried my ECU), I had to ask them for a loaner, after which I was told to wait for a day or two cause all their loaners were out. When I got one the next day, it was a Copper Orange Mica 3-dr Yaris LE. The only option was the automatic. No A/C, pwr win/lock/mirror, at least it had a rear wiper lol.
