Default For Aftermarket Navigation, is the ES350 1 din or 2?

Might be getting the ES350 in the future and I am looking to put in an AVIC-D1 navigation unit in my current car which will fit it because it has 2 dins. This refers to the space you have to put in the in dash 7'' screen. I think you can fit it in the car because the indash navi is an option for the car but just wanted to make sure. I hope you guys know what i'm talking about. If it only had one din then you would have to buy the navi that flips up(motorized screen that folds away). thanks in advance.

Hmm, that is a tough question. Most other cars fit this category of 1 or 2 DIN size opening for a stereo where you can easily replace a factory unit with an aftermarket one. With a Lexus design and stereo integration (I assume you are talking about getting a non-Nav car and replacing a stereo unit with a NAV?), I'm not sure how is it going to fit in there since the whole panel around it shaped in a unique way. Even if you squeez it in in there, it will look really ugly... Unless you are getting that NAV system so you can watch DVDs inside and not specifically for NAV, I would recommend getting ES350 with NAV system. If you are only interested in NAV, just get a portable mountable unit. Will be cheaper and look cleaner inside....

So it might look better to go with the lexus nav and i definitely want to watch movies, so i can just add the adapter to watch movies also. I think they put jacks on the back of the lexus nav and put a hideaway dvd player under the seat or something to that extent.

Keep in mind, the Lexus ML w/NAV plays DVDs on the main screen. You just have to be stopped with the parking brake set. I can't imagine using any other GPS in the car except stock. And this is from someone who has already owned 3 different GPS units.

Don't you have to order the Ultra package (includes giant sunroof, etc) to add the ML sound system to play DVD'S. If Lexus added few bucks worth of electronic parts to the standard Nav, it would play DVD's. Sounds like a GM trick, but I think its true.
