We have an old Edison spring-wound phonograph in our basement - Looks kinda yours, only with a few less bells and whistles.

Wow!

That's a serious looking rig you have there.

So I guess it's fair to say you like horns, huh?

Do those monsters have a name or are they custom built?

What's the matter, Klipsch's weren't good enough for you?

Actually it all started with this:

And then I had Lowther Model 4 Corner Horns in the 50's and progressed to Klipschhorns in the 60's. You name it, and I most likely had it. LOL
P.S. The picture of the monster horns were not mine......it was a little joke.
Do you think my wife would let all that equipment in our house......I think not.

That's a setup from an audio store.

Whew, that makes more sense. For a second there I was wondering why our friend was wasting his time on an ES 350 when it was looking pretty obvious he should be driving an Aston Martin or Bentley.

Believe me it's simply abysmal. Do yourself a favor and leave it NOT engaged and adjust the volume to your own personal liking.
IMHO, ASL does nothing but increase sound level ( seems like about 20%) when speed increases to compensate for wind noise and other external sound. It does no change bass, midrange or treble settings from their original settings (at least on my ML system). The system is bass heavy, and music that is loaded on the bottem end distorts quickly at elevated sound levels.
That 8" sub just bottoms out quick. I would replace it if it were not 16 ohms, so I would need a mono amp as well.

Boy you ain't kidding about the performance of the factory sub in the ES 350...

I can hear the sub bottom out pretty bad even on moderate bass-heavy tracks...and that's even though the volume (30) and bass (one notch past middle) aren't cranked up that high to begin with!
