Default Questions

Hello to all,
I'm about to close on a deal for my 2007 ES UL Ruby Red is there anything I should know that would help me with my negotiation?
Ps> I'm in North Jersey and will be buying from Bridgewater Lexus dealership.
Regards Rob

Since Tony Soprano is in your state, maybe he can help you with your negotiation.

Welcome to the club, and good luck.

What is the extra wood package??? Don't think I've heard of that one before.

That's Tony Soprano's take. Sorry couldn't resist.
Seriously though, that ($40,101) looks like a very good price for the NY/NJ area.

Our local Lexus TV add is saying $3,000 off MSRP on all 2007 ES models. Of course that might be limited to stock on hand or some other fine print.

If you are not in a bind to get a new ES, wait until the '08's come out. It seems that there are things that lexus needs to fix and hopefully they are fixed by next model year. Its always wise to not buy a first model year car. Then again i just bought a first year lexus LS430, but thats my beater so i can care less what goes wrong in that car.

Yes, need some details about this "Extra Wood Package."

I'd be willing to bet it's an aftermarket non-Lexus "stick-on" deal; not that there's anything wrong with that. "Sherwood Dash" is one company that makes fine quality wood dash kits for many vehicles.

You're 100% correct. Lexus parts does not list an extra wood package as an OEM option.

When we were shopping for the ES we also visited the local GM dealer and saw a Buick and a Caddy with that stick on wood stuff in them. In both vehicles the corners were lifting and on other corners I could lift the material with my finger nail.

I think I'd pass.

How do you go from an offer in hand of $41,000 to $40,101?

Sorry guy's have'nt had time to post here (Busy),
but you are 100% right these extra's are in fact offered by the dealership, I can't speak for your's but I will speak to mine's that being said Lexus of Bridgewater NJ is where I made my deal, they in fact had an accessory sheet of extra's they made available per model.
Ps.> I don't remember saying this was an OEM option, I was presented a sheet of 20 dealer accessories to which included item's from extended service to Lojack, wheels, mats, paint and leather sealers an etc. just to name a few.

It's a dealership option/accessory.

OK here you go,
The extra wood accessory as stated in another post is a dealer option, the wood is real wood not that paper and or wood like products we've all seen before, the dealer had an Es there ready for pickup with this accessory and I had the chance to see it for myself before ordering(WOW), the wood was a perfect match even the grains went in the same direction and or had the same pattern and was of the highest quality and this in my opinion is what the inside was missing, my benz needed a little pick me up as well and Ray Catena offered me the same type of dress-up kit now the inside looks as good as the outside (In my opinion!).
If I remember correctly as told to me by the tech doing the install on my benz you should beaware of those stick on type products, he said and I quote these wood options should be applied with a glue type product making them permanent, had mines done over a year now and still looks and feel the same as the first day (Perfect).
The kit is 32 pc's. I will post pic's once I take delivery which should be late Nov. early Dec.
Regards Rob
