Default Nav screen display during backup camera/parking sensor operation

Either I just can't figure out how to do it or else it's a quirk in the way the nav screen display operates, but when the nav screen is displaying either the video from the backup camera or the parking sensor warning screen and I switch the display to something other than either of those to--e.g., Audio or Nav--I am unable to switch the screen back to backup camera or parking sensor display. I know that normally one wouldn't really need to switch the display while backing up and/or performing a maneuver that would activate the parking sensors, but still--the fact that once you press a button to switch the display away from the backup video to something else, you can't get the backup video to display again unless you take the shifter out of reverse gear and then shift back into reverse gear.

So...is there anyway to get the backup video to (re)display if you switch out of it while still in reverse gear?

I've noticed the same thing - once you leave the backup camera picture you can't get back to it (other than shifting to something other than R and back again).

Seems like a design flaw to me by engineers who never anticipated screen interruptions while in reverse.

Agreed. I noticed this too.

Yeah, it's a design flaw.

Side note, I was thinking the other day that there should be manual on/off switch for the rear camera. It would nice to be able to look behind you while the car is in motion (either forward or reverse).

Yeah, like that would ever happen with the Lexus nanny mindset. I'm surprised they allow us to drive while driving.

Would be cool though...

Actually, they don't allow you to "drive while driving". You keep your hands off the steering wheel while it parks the car for you in the LS460.
